Eliteror Recommends: Skyve Wine Bistro

0

Tucked away in a side street a stones throw from Newton MRT, Skyve’s Wine Bistro is easy to miss, but it’s definitely worth a look. Patrons are greeted by a charming, softly lit garden area, which offers a peaceful respite from Singapore’s busy streets. The carefully spaced seating options, under the trees make this area the perfect option for couples or small groups seeking intimacy. For larger groups or those who wish to be in closer proximity to the bar the sleek and spacious interior of the main building is an attractive option.

In fact, Skyve really does cater to a almost everyone. With it’s eclectic roster of week night entertainment, including Wednesday’s ‘solo night’, Thursday’s magical dining experience and live music throughout the weekend there really appears to be something for everyone. The absolute highlight of Skyve’s entertainment roster has to be their magician: Jasper. Eliteror was completely blown away by the tact and the talent of Jasper. Magicians often have a tendency to be rather annoying and egotistical and their displays of magic can interrupt the flow of a patron’s conversation. However, Jasper is highly skilled in people watching and is incredibly tactful when approaching a group.  He offers a charming and delightful alternative entertainment experience and Eliteror recommends visiting Skyve on a Thursday between 7.30-8.30pm when he is performing.

Skyve prides itself on it’s eclectic menu. Take for example The ‘Snoozy Brunch’ which is available on until 4pm is a must try for those looking for a hangover cure or a relaxing respite from Orchard road during the weekend. Even the most picky eaters will find a suitable option amongst the exciting western breakfast options – granola, french toast and polenta are all on offer. Those looking for a heartier option should try the Skyve’s twist on the Eggs Benedict – the ‘Skyve Sous Vide’ $19 which includes an English Muffin draped in Hollandaise Sauce and  served alongside Sautéed Wild Mushrooms, Confit Cherry Tomato and Streaky Bacon –  a colourful and satisfying option! For those looking for something a little lighter, salads start at $19.  If these don’t tickle your fancy, Pizza, Pasta, Burgers, and desserts are all on offer. As with it’s entertainment, Skyve leaves no stone unturned when it comes to it’s menu and really strives to offer something for everyone.

Another strong point of Skyve is the highly trained staff, who are very attentive and knowledgeable and will really go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience at the bistro. It is clear that Skyve prides itself on its relationship with its carefully chosen vendors and operates in partnership with Crystal Wines and Vivid Snaps Photography whom are both highly skilled at their craft.

Skyve has many strings to it’s bow. It is a one stop destination for corporate events, baby showers, weddings and it even has a spa day! Eliteror is excited to see how Skyve continues to grow and explore new ventures. A refreshing addition to Singapore’s growing bistro scene, Eliteror recommends Skyve as an alternative destination for ladies night, a fail safe option for brunch or as a savvy choice for corporate event planners.
