JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE, a growing network of luxury Scotch Whisky embassies, today presents THE JOHN WALKER PHILIP LAWSON JOHNSTON LIMITED EDITION, a series of limited handengraved creations of THE JOHN WALKER. This one-time-only release is the product of a collaboration between JOHN WALKER & SONS, Scotch Whisky Distillers By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, and Philip Lawson Johnston, Specialist Hand Engraver of Glass By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen. This partnership marks a shared commitment to celebrating art and skilled craftsmanship.
To commemorate and celebrate Singapore’s 50th year of independence, JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE has also collaborated with Johnston to present a special one-time release – THE JOHN WALKER SG50 JUBILEE LIMITED EDITION.
“It is truly a privilege to witness two extraordinary craftsmen – Philip, one of the finest hand engravers of glass and Jim, one of world’s most respected whisky blenders – come together to create beautiful, bespoke pieces of THE JOHN WALKER, skilfully engraved as art pieces that will be coveted by modern luxury consumers,” said Lawrence Law, Global General Manager, JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE. “Where the craft of glass engraving meets the craft of whisky blending, this unique collaboration fittingly encapsulates our vision in taking the art, craftsmanship, heritage and creativity of Scotch Whisky to the four corners of the world.”
THE JOHN WALKER SG50 JUBILEE LIMITED EDITION captures the essence of Singapore, prominently featuring Raffles Hotel, a symbolic piece of colonial architecture in a modernised city and one of the few remaining 19th century hotels in the world, surrounded by orchids and rain trees. In line with the theme “Floral Architecture”, the engraving also showcases Singapore’s renowned Super Trees and Flower Dome – man-made vertical gardens that have become a representation of the city’s progressive character and an iconic part of its skyline.
“I am honoured to play a part in creating these exclusive masterpieces for JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE that pay tribute to the brand’s heritage. The beauty of these creations lie in the intricate details – where no two pieces are engraved the same but yet harmoniously bearing the sophistication of THE JOHN WALKER,” commented Johnston.
