Samsonite Supports Local Arts with Artist Collaboration and Regional Design Competition

Samsonite, in support of the local arts, has collaborated with Singaporean artist, award-winning filmmaker and Asiatainment artiste, Edmund Chen, to create a limited edition luggage collection entitled “Cherish”.

The four pieces of artwork featured on the collection are parts of Chen’s 600 metre long masterpiece, which was a Guinness World Record set in 2013 for the Longest Drawing by an Individual. Inspired by the changing of the seasons, Chen’s artwork embodies his vision of how people around the world must embrace life and the experiences that life brings through the seasons.

Summer                                                        Winter

The artwork is interwoven into the CURV® material of Samsonite’s signature Cosmolite collection, allowing the artwork to be resistant to possible scratches caused by airport handlers.

100 limited pieces of Spring will be available in two sizes from June 2015 at selected Samsonite boutiques. Additionally, five exclusive sets of the “Cherish” collection, comprising Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, will be sold with all proceeds going towards the Ang Mo Kio – Thye Hua Guan Hospital.

The “Cherish” collection will be available at the following Samsonite outlets from June 2015 onwards: ION Orchard, Marina Square, Mandarin Gallery, VivoCity, Changi Airport Terminal 2 Transit and Changi Airport Terminal 3 Transit.

From 16 March to 30 April, aspiring artists and residents of Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, India, Singapore, and Australia can take part in the Be A Samsonite Designer Contest by submitting designs inspired by their personal reflections of their home country.
