One of the world’s most awarded gins, Tanqueray, has announced the launch of the Tanqueray Rangpur Gin in Asia, a distilled gin with a zesty citrus twist. It is now available across selected bars and restaurants in Singapore, its first Asian city.

The best kept secret of the British-Indian tradition, Tanqueray Rangpur Gin is a perfect balance of zest and juniper, lifting the flavours in any cocktail or serve.

Tanqueray Rangpur Gin takes its name from the Rangpur lime, a unique fruit of the native Indian Rangpur tree that blends the zestiness of lime and the juiciness of a Mandarin orange. Distilling the Rangpur lime with other botanicals – including bay leaf, ginger and of course juniper – gives Tanqueray Rangpur Gin a subtle, yet memorably Asian twist that makes it ideal for a classic martini, a highball, or an invigorating shot on the rocks.

Since its global launch in 2006, Rangpur has won gold, double gold and platinum awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

“Once dismissed as old fashioned, gin is now experiencing a revival across Asia and we’re excited to be introducing the Rangpur in the Singapore market of Gin lovers. Putting a zesty twist on the world’s finest gin, Tanqueray Rangpur Gin is one not to be missed. Be it straight up or in a cocktail, it brings out a unique flavour – a refreshing blend of citrus and botanicals. It is refreshing and well-balanced – a bartender’s dream! “said Fabricio Marques, Diageo Reserve’s brand development manager for Asia Pacific.

Tanqueray Rangpur Gin achieves the perfect balance of Rangpur lime and other botanicals. On the nose, it is highlighted with lots of zest, fresh citrus peel and just-cut botanicals. On the palate, it is smooth offering a pleasantly balanced gin flavour that’s instantly recognisable as Tanqueray. The finish is smooth, crisp and lemony with the peppery heat from the juniper.
