Shooting Culture with an iPhone

Derrick Ofosu Boateng is a Ghanaian digital artist inspired by the richness of Africa and the way of life of her inhabitants.

An avowed fan of football, music and the 7th art, Derrick embodies the youth of the continent who have taken over the internet in no time. His works are emblematic of the media mix, produced with iPhone.

Deeply marked by Anglo-Saxon culture, he dares to use color through everyday scenes exclusively devoted to “feel good”. These characters celebrate the black body, always crowned with bright, inspiring tones. Equipped with trumpets and tasty-looking fruits, they go beyond the perception of movement: they are inhabited, embodied, they overflow with life and communicative energy.

Derrick’s work has also been featured on the Google Chrome banner for Black History Month in 2021.

Based in the heart of Singapore’s central business district, Art Works Group was established in 2011.
