Smoke & Mirrors is thrilled to debut its first ever pop up event on Saturday 18 June from 12 noon to 4pm. Collaborating with Mitzo Restaurant & Bar and Hendrick’s Gin, Brunch and Punch is a Saturday cocktail brunch affair that promises the start of a decadent weekend.
Guests can expect nothing less from Head Bartender Yugnes Susela. A well-recognised personality in the cocktail scene and award-winning mixologist, look forward to spirited magic concocted by Yugnes and his team using a variety of Hendrick’s punches and Hendrick’s and Tonic.
At $92++ per person, taste the perfect symphony of flavours in the Hendrick’s punches. King Anuman is a refreshing concoction of Hendrick’s Gin, basil and lemongrass vermouth, peppermint tea and prosecco. The fragrance of the punch is elevated with kaffir lime succuram, syrup made from kaffir lime oil. Served in a dainty tea pot, Raise Your Pinkie is a definite pleaser with the invigorating mix of Hendrick’s Gin, beetroot tea, campari and borage syrup. Guests can also fill their bottomless glasses with free-flow Prosecco, White and Red Wine and Draught Beers.
To complement the tipples, guests can savour a medley of dishes that are carefully prepped and cooked with finesse. At the free-flow live station, indulge in the crisp and glistening Peking Duck, skillfully sliced and wrapped in a homemade crepe. Guests can also have a taste of the Braised Duo Vermicelli with Crabmeat, a flavourful dish bound to satisfy.
The price also includes one dim sum platter of four selections from a list of scrumptious dishes, from Mitzo’s Special Barbecued Pork to the decadent Golden Fried Soft Shell Crab with Curry Floss. If you have not already heard about Mitzo, this is the perfect opportunity to try its mouth-watering Signatures. Starting from humble roots, Yugnes Susela worked his way up the food chain, from a Japanese cook at the age of 16 to a waiter and finally to a bartender at 21 years old. He is now the Head Bartender at Smoke & Mirrors. For him, cocktails are about giving the senses something else to play with. His aim is to give guests an experience they will not have elsewhere. Having finished in the Top 4 of the 2015 Diageo World Class competition and clinching gold for Team Singapore at the Diageo Reserve World Class SEA Finals 2015, he was recently invited by The Singapore Tourism Board to showcase Singapore cocktails in Brussels, Belgium.
