Simone Jewels reignites the magic with “Romance du Art Nouveau”.
Preaching the philosophy, “Art should be the way of life”, the biggest art movement, Art Nouveau, changed the history of art and paved a new direction for many famous artists including Gaudi, Tiffany, Van Gogh and Monet. But few know that many of these famous artist were inspired from the irregularity, curved lines and vibrant colours of the Japanese woodblock art, Ukiyo-e, that eventually created the Art Nouveau. In fact, Van Gogh was an avid collector of Ukiyo-e and painted copies in oil of Ukiyo-e prints. Inspired from the oriental elements of Ukiyoe and infusing it with modern angles of the Art Nouveau, Simone Jewels reignites the magic and beauty and brings to life Modern Art Nouveau of the 21st century.
“The Starry Night” by Van Gogh inspires a collection made with unheated star sapphires. “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokusai inspires a ring with waves splashing on a 23ct Malaya Garnet.”
